Last weekend I was at the ARFcom KY gathering/shoot at Knob Creek, and another member mentioned that he had an AAC M4 1000 suppressor so I asked if I could try it on my 556. It was awesome. I want one.

I have an M4-2000 on my 556 SBR and it might just be the epitome of pure awesomeness!
And to think that I was going to remove the factory SWAT flash hider to replace it with the 556 style flash hider. In fact the 556 style one had just arrived from CO gun sales the day before this in my mail box.

Now the new flash hider sits on my 522. 8)
Ok CSwim do tell? I am looking at an AWC for my 556 and 522. Did it increase up front weight to the point of being unstable? Function with the suppresor any problems?
Let us know.
What kind of charging handle is on your rifle? It looks like it has less drop than the Griffon?

I didn't notice any real addition weight. Of course the SWAT model is already a bit front heavy but this suppressor didn't seem to make it noticeably more so.

We put 40 rounds through it with no problems at all. I was mainly interested in the level of sound reduction as I had read (forgot where) that the 556 didn't suppress very well. The guy that owned the suppressor said it was just as quiet on my SIG as it is on his AR. It seemed pretty quiet to me compared to other suppressed weapons I have fired.

That is the factory charging handle. It is the second generation version that sticks out parallel to the ground. Low enough to not interfere with an EOTech but high enough to clear the folding stock.
