Thinking about modifying a Centurion Arms Diopter...

I'm thinking about modifying a Centurion Arms diopter to work with the Sig classic hooded front sight. The best I can tell from searching is the Sig diopter is a little over 1/2 inch lower than AR sights.

I don't have a Centurion Arms diopter in hand so I'm not sure if it can be shortened enough.

Anyone fab up a rear sight with a HK style diopter?

This is also what I was thinking would work well.

I am sure someone has put together some sight with a G3 drum and a piece of picitinny rail for a rear sight.

The height would be the issue to work with the front sight.

But with surplus G3 drums being about $12, and some rail with a screw (ala weaver mount) I would guess you could have a nice rear sight that is more robust than what is be less coin as well.

I've stumbled across people using the HK diopter on various bases. I couldn't find anything that would work for me. I went with the Centurion Arms rear because it will be the easiest for my friend to do the machine work. At this point we've lowered the sight base by 0.300". It still shoots 9" high at 100 yards. I think another 0.070" and it should be GTG.
