Hi everyone, I'm a relatively new member to this site who has been lurking for a while trying to get as much information on the 556 as possible. I finally pick up my 556SCM this afternoon. I haven't had time to do anything with it yet, hopefully some time will open up tomorrow.
I do have a question that I have not been able to find an answer too. I tried the SEARCH function, to no avail.
I live in New York and therefor am limited to a post-ban 10 round magazine. If possible could someone recommend a good aftermarket 10 round magazine for the 556, and also could you recommend a good supplier to buy some from. I've read several posts regarding a 30 round magazine that is somehow limited to the 10 round maximum.

I think most guys in NY and the Peoples Republik of Kalifornia have standard 30 round mags, modded to only accept 10 rnds. If I find any made for 10 rnds factory I will post

Welcome to the forum. Not having personal experience with the (10) rd mag, I will say in my opinion Pmag makes the best magazine on the market. Only problem is they don't make a (10) rd mag, but there are companies that alter them to accept only (10), just use Google and search for Pmag 10 rd magazines.

Hey Brian, I got my new Sig last month and these mags have worked flawlesly every time. I am in CA and need the 10/20 or 10/30 mags to be legal. Had probelems with other mags that were modified for CA use but these are golden in my Sig556. Regards

Hey Brian , the SCM comes with 1 10 rounder mag made by C products . The C Products web site offers them for sale - 11.95 each - and they give a LEO discount

Just found this looking through Midway, seems Magpul is apparently going to be making some 10 and 5 round Pmags.... Downside is the 8/2010 expected ship date....

Thanks KuroNeko. I looked into the mags that cmaher55 has suggested and I think that is the way I am going to go.

Another source here in Kalifornia is John @ Calegalmags. I've purchased from him several times, mostly Magpul 10/30's, and have had zero problems with them.
