SAGE "Special Arched Guard Enhancement" $16.95

Just got these first test shots off the mold this afternoon, we have been running prototypes for some time. Material is the same polymer as the Scorpion Grip and will be available in the same range of polymer colors.

(UPDATE ON COLORS) We now will offer the SAGE trigger guard in all five colors we make - O.D. Green, Desert Tan, Black, Flat Dark Earth, and Foliage Green.

I expect these to be available in about 10-15 days on the website!

[ETA] As you can tell I brought them home with me and shot the picture on the patio table for some natural light. Usually I "sterilize" the gun, but I was in such a rush sharp eyes will notice another (much delayed!) Manticore product there!

Thanks for the compliments! This was one of the designs that came together on the first try- what you see is literally the same as the concept sketch with no changes!

Pricing is up, $16.95 each no matter what color. We will get the mold cranking on Monday, parts should be available very quickly!

SAGE trigger guards are now in stock in black, and we are starting to fill backorders on all other colors. We should have all colors in stock within the next 1-2 weeks!

I love the work your doing for the 556, your grips are on my list, but what is the advantage your trigger guard offers?

    The SAGE trigger guard:

    1. Allows better access for gloved or big mongo trigger fingers
    2. Fills the gap at the rear of the trigger guard to prevent rubbing/chafing on the middle finger on long days of rifle shooting and manipulation.
    3. Is pinned on both ends so no rattle
    4. Is color matched to your Scorpion Grip and EMBR lever
    5. Is polymer so it doesn't get freaking cold like an aluminum one in very cold temps

    It was a good question!

We are working on a video right now showing the install of the Scorpion, EMBR, and SAGE on a SIG 556, and which will go over the advantages of all of them.

    Is that a polymer safety?

That is the ELSA paddle safety and it is black anodized 6061 aluminum.

Although we could make safety levers from polymer (and in colors!) I did not think they would be very popular. We could always explore it if people have an interest.

Just installed the Sage the SAGE trigger guard and Scorpion Gen2 grip on my Sigg 556 Patrol. What a postive noticeable difference. Great products! Thanks.

I installed mine yesterday too, had a slight problem with the SAGE but nothing I wasn't able to fix. :)

Shoot me a PM and let me know what the slight issue was. We have a limited number of rifles to test them on, so we like to know if there is any variation.

The front roll pin can be a bit tricky to get started, even I had to give it a try or two the first time. Best tip is to squeeze the tip of the pin slightly with needle nose pliers, and then hold it in place and start tapping.

If you ever want to remove the SAGE (why you would do that I have no idea, but if you do) Just tap the front pin in past the aluminum front lug, the front pin will be captured in the SAGE, then just remove the rear pin, pull the guard off, and tap the front pin out.

Don't ever use a longer pin at home or from the hardware store unless you want to make that a PERMANENT installation.
