SIG 556 Safety Lever Spring

Howdy guys. My search-fu is weak today, so please forgive if this is somewhere in the archives.

I was running a 556 classic in a carbine class yesterday and noticed that the safety lever was very hard to manipulate with my thumb. While I have (thanks to that) gotten around to finally installing the Krebs extended switch I got a while back, the action is still stiff as hell. I noticed that the safety lever is held in position directly with a spring rather than a detent + spring setup like on AR platforms. Is there a good way to lighten up that spring? Does anybody make a lighter one?

My AR platforms generally have very light safeties that make competition manipulation easy. I'd hate to have to switch back to an AR platform because I have a hard time rolling the safety and keeping up.
