Just bought home my new Sig 556 Swat Patrol Rifle...couple of quick issues/problems...

1. The plastic latch piece on my stock pulls out when moving the stock from the folded to open position...damn piece of plastic stays on the rail???

Any fixes, thoughts would be appreciated

2. Want to use an Eotech however the sights (fixed front and diopter rear) will not co-witness...

Any thoughts on the least expensive and above all LIGHTEST fixes?

thanks

Cant help you with the sight question but have some suggestions on the clip coming out.
Before I bought my Sig I ran across a video on you tube showing this exact problem. I have been thinking of fixes in case my rifle has this problem.
I am not a home so dont know what the clip looks like in detail but here are my ideas. The clip appears to be a simple V shape with locking tabs at the top. The only thing that holds the piece in place is the force on the tabs.
A couple of ideas here first a small length of spring 3-8 coils like a ballpoint pen spring, inserted into the area between the locking tabs and glued in place.
Any object that could be placed into the area between the locking tabs to prevent them from collapsing and coming out. A small piece of electrical tape trimmed to fit with the sticky side out, a small piece of pencil eraser. If the clip is a full V shape all the way down place something like a trimmed piece of plastic in the small end of the V to apply more outward pressure to the top of the V and the locking tabs.
Also the easiest fix pull out the locking clip and put glue on the two tabs and put it back in wont come out then.
Anyways let me know what you think or what works or doesnt. Dont know if my rifle will have the same problem but will have to wait til I get home to see. If you or someone can post a pic of the locking clip will look and maybe will come up with a better fix.

The only negative I have is the plastic clip piece that's on the right side of the stock to "lock" it closed. It comes out from time-to-time when unfoldin' the stock. It doesn't come out any other time, though. I talked to SIG customer service about it while I had them on the phone for another reason, and I was told I could super glue the plastic clip to the inside of the stock, and it wouldn't mess anything up or void the warranty.

This was on another post on here. Guess that solves one problem

Long time no post, I just bought a sig patrol with 552 hand gaurd. I just sent the gun in for the side folding stock being difficult to latch and every time I unlatch the retaining clip comes out. I was a little aggrivated but so far the customer service was good. They sent me a prepaid postage label and I left them a note to correct stock and perform any updates or service that the gun needed.

What can I expect from thier service?> Do you actually go over the gun? I was curious to see what you guys have expericanced from sigs' service.

Dont send it back for that. There are topics on here that it has been covered. Pull it out super glue it and put it back in. Does not affect warrantee was the quick fix mentioned by Sig.

I am a lexus mechanic and any time I have to used super glue it makes me ill. Spending over a grand on anything should not need super glue. I tried turning the clip 180 with no luck. I spoke with the customer service lady who was very nice and she said that they would do a permenant fix. Please note it was also difficult to latch .

Sig like Lexus should provide first class service and stand behind their product and so far, I am happy with thier service.........we will see when I get the gun back.

Isn't the folding stock on the Patrol SWAT illegal in CA even with the bullet button?

The reason I ask is that I also have one and I'm worried I have to replace the stock. I have no idea how to do that or what I would replace it with...

Not if you get a longer muzzle device and make the LOA= 30" or more. I got rid of my
folder and replaced it with the collapsible tube. Pete

The clip on my 556 never did that but my 522 did. I just pulled it out, flipped it 180 degrees (like another poster said) and it solved the problem completely. I think they are being put in the wrong way in the factory, although I could not tell a difference between each side.
