Got a question about the ejector inside the receiver. Mine has a machined groove that looks to have been caused by a tool path during manufacturing. Here are a couple of pics:

The cut runs parallel to the direction of travel for the carrier/bolt components on the inner most edge of the ejector. Looking at the face of the ejector, the wedge cut out is clearly visible inside the brass arc where the case contacts the ejector. Is this cut normal? Any help would be appreciated.

Well, I just checked my 556 and it doesn't have it.
Is it causing problems?
If not, I'm not sure I'd say it's a problem.

No, it hasn't caused any problems. Just doesn't leave much metal there long term to facilitate ejection, especially if one shoots alot of steel cased stuff. FWIW, I've gotten two replies on various forums, one looked like mine, one doesn't. Hardly definative! :D
