So I decided to repaint my sig. I was gonna totally strip the paint I had and then go with a kind of metalic FDE look... BUT I'll do that on my next 556... DMR maybe.

So here it was...

And here it is now...

I used the same colors just with no stenciles and finished it off with Matte Finish... perfectly reflective.

P.S. Picked up 1000 PMC 55gr. for $329... AH the price just went up $10

That guns getting heavier all the time
Yeah she is is.

I really don't know why I painted her again... BOREDOM. I really shouldn't have. Then I try to add the red and white for the selector and mess it all up.

Oh well... I got 1000 rounds being delivered TODAY! :p and more mags and CAA grip thursday 8)
Maybe your like me and can't decide on a color for long. That's why I plan to have lot's more guns of various design patterns. Then you only have to decide which one to shoot each day
That's an OUTSTANDING IDEA!!

Now I just got to talk the wife into it
Speaking of repainting (and a little rail modifying):

Thanks SGT, that duracoat looks like I bought everything like that. The one mistake I made though, is I used a tad bit too much hardener (ADD and measuring don't add up ;-)) and that slightly lightened the color and made it shinyish. But I got a good amount left over for when I get bored. Dude, your next paint job should be flecktarn. That would be sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet. Bob Ross that ish
Oh and for future ammo inquiries (I don't know if you saw my other post about it) try www.ammoengine.com . It is updated every day I believe, and is quite helpful.
SGT,
If you need to remove some of that paint use a can or three of brake cleaner!
AC45ACP,
I have paint stripper that works pretty well and fast, but it makes a hell of a mess. Is brake cleaner, cleaner?

Has anyone stripped the lower of the firing mech? ...ullie? :?: I want to take out the parts to paint it. Any tools or brains  I might need to do so?
Stripping the lower is pretty straight forward. Start with the hammer forward.

Drive out one of the roll pins in the safety/selector switches. I typically do the one on the left, but either should work.

Twist the safety shaft around, and you can walk it out. This releases the trigger spring, and the lock spring that prevent the pins from walking.

Push out the trigger pin, and lift out the trigger assembly including the spring. Note, there is a tube that goes through the trigger and trigger bar. You do not need to remove this.

Remove the lock spring from the hammer pin.

Push out the hammer pin and remove the hammer.

The only two tricks in reassembly. First is that when you drop the trigger back in, it will not align. You have to reach in and squeeze the trigger bar to the rearward position, and it will pop in. Second is that whenyou try to snake the selector shaft back in, you need to thrread it between the two springs. I find that a little piece of metal tubing works great to capture the tip of the trigger spring, so youcan push it down. Otherwise, there will be some cussing involved.

This was a quick test pattern about 5mins of dry time so It will look a lot better with 24hrs between coats and than a Coat of flat clear!!
