Things were screwed before Obama, The biggest threat to my way of life wasn't an option, and has already reared it's ugly head(not much of a threat any more) Mortgage lenders, unless they give them selves billion dollar bonuses.
Therefore I picked the Next biggest threat,
The Democratic government.

Always remember this people:
It is NOT the government that is broken, it is the PEOPLE in the government that have warped, twisted, and perverted it to the state that it is in. If you actually take the time to study the SYSTEM of government that our forefathers drafted, it is the BEST way to have a FREE nation that advances the people and protects their lives and liberties...
POLITICIANS are the threat, they are the ones that have whored the government for their sick, greedy, self serving needs.
Concepts are eternal and concrete, people are mortal and can be flawed...
It's sad that a few hundred idiots are trashing our rights and freedoms, and that no one is stopping it. In theory, the fix is easy, but in practice I doubt that anyone will ever stop the decay and fraud.....

Thank you and well said. I should have been more specific. Frankly I had had a few cold ones when I got inspired to post the poll.

Well said it's not the gov. but the idiots that however keep putting in there thats screwing things up.

When running for office they say anything once in they do anything they want and rub are noses in it.

The tea party thats going top happen on 4-15-09 is a good place to start complaining the more they see the more they are going to know that we are about to do something about it and vote them all out and start over.

If the Dems had put this poll in the USA Today, the choices would have been.
1.Law abiding citizens with guns.
2. Racism
3. People who make over $250,000 but less than $250,000,000 annually.
4. White People
5. Conservative thoughts

Oh, I forgot about gay marriage, that's the domestic policy that all of the so called "conservatives" were worried about instead of the fact that nobody was building the God damned border fences that were supposed to go up. Now the money is gone and I don't see any fences. Illegals are POURING into South Texas right now, further low balling Americans out of what few labor jobs and construction work there is left. Meanwhile, on the rare occasion that I see a couple of obvious homos together, I never think to look for rings, and I can't tell if they are "married" or not.

ArmyRecruiter hit the nail on the head but to generalize I would definitely say the U.S. Government..................people had better figure out what is going on. Evidence leads me to expect a full blown Avian Flu pandemic before long.

I don't like posting political views on forums but I am a neoconservative who thinks anything that goes against George Washington and Thomas Jefferson is wrong- I also work for the government, so here's my take:

I think the U.S. Government wasn't a 'threat' until Obama and his cabinet took office.

I think that he for some reason, just figured doing the opposite of Cheney and Bush would make the Americans who voted for him, happy, and therefore win re-election, while implementing Gramsci style socialism and appeasing his radical left constituency during the crisis.

I think its very odd that the true-democrats allowed this to happen, and I blame them. Although, I'm very disappointed in the republicans other than certain figures. I think that if Obama had an understanding of warfare, intelligence collection, nuclear weapons proliferation, and was not just some local-politician-lawyer ... He would understand what it is to be an American President like Thomas Jefferson was.

If it's any consolation to anyone, my opinions are based on First-Hand information only and supplemental material is mainly from fact based non-news sources. I'm one of those people who watches Foxnews while recording CNN just so I can compare and contrast how liberal CNN is being.

Edit: I voted for Terrorism as the biggest threat to my way of life in the poll because I think people have forgotten 9/11 - especially when Obama is returning statues to the UK and handing them DVD's as well as going on Leno. I think that once we get a republican administration in, hopefully things will change for the better and the U.S. will not be destroying itself through the ACLU and liberal orgs.

I think alot of people remember 9/11 very well. Alot of us think about the end result of that day every time we see the patriot act in action and our liberty stripped away from us or when we have to watch loved ones go off to fight in a war.

I wish I could share your optimism. I did until Bush and the (re)pubicans brought us the warrantless wiretaps, warrantless search-and-seizures, the first bailout (socialism), etc....

Last night when my wife got home from school she told me some thing that made me realize that this poll is missing perhaps the greatest threat of all, us. My wife is in an economics class with approx. 30 students and a business lawyer teaching. The topic of AIG bonuses being heavily taxed came up and all the students agreed that this was a good thing. My wife spoke up to the class about how unconstitutional and illegal this was. My wife described the class as looking like "a hurd of deer caught in the worlds brightest spot light".

One girl in class asked "how would the constitution have anything to do with it?". Another girl in class asked " if its unconstitutional, how did it get passed?" at which time the professor informed the class that numerous laws are passed that are unconstitutional. My wife, playing devils advocate, asked the professor how it was possible that our goverment could be allowed to go against the constitution. The professor asked the class to raise their hands if they cared about what the goverment did to the constitution. My wife was the only student to raise her hand at which time the professor stated "that's how".

Wow....if you working folk would move out of the state of Michigan, they would be left with a welfare state minus the funding. They would devolve very quickly. I think everybody that lives in a chronic blue state would be very wise to consider jumping ship. Colleges in general have an unequal share of liberal scum, but in the South, that class would have been at least 50/50 if not weighted in favor of the Constitution and I can honestly picture it coming to blows. We try to take our liberty DAMN seriously. Except in Memphis. It is worse than Detroit--look it up. But the rest of the South is rockin'...

I would love nothing more than to get out of this toilet bowl known as Michigan. Unfortunetly I can't for a few more years. When I talk about politics and other currents events around here I get 1 of 2 types of responses: I'm either a nut job and militia quack, or I get a deer in the headlights look, and then something along the lines of "ow my god, thats scary. did you watch dancing with the stars last night!". If the shtf in this counrty, I hope you good ol boys down there won't mind having a yankee coming your way.

Won't mind one bit, I was born down here and I've spent most of my life here, but I lived in MN, PA and NY as a little kid in the late 80's, I was welcomed back with open arms...

Yeah we're considering heading that way, but the rising threat of the refried refugees from the south is making us a bit hesitant.
