Machined from billet aluminum, our SA AR lower receiver is designed with a standard STANAG AR-15 magazine well. This receiver is also designed to use a factory AR-15 mag release (not included).

How much does your lower receiver weigh? Compare to a factory ER design?

I would think the SA FCG from the 522 should be able to swap right over to these lowers but I do not own one to check, I know I've seen the 522's for sale with aluminum Classic lowers so I think that's a pretty good indicator.

Does anyone know if these lowers are available for sale? Google is failing me... :(

EDIT: I just found it.... But based on the picture it looks like they want $450 for a stripped lower? Seems kinda high. They are out of stock anyway: http://northeasternarms.com/accessories ... r-receiver

Yea I actually called them, and I was referred to another company that has their lowers in stock. The other company which I can't remember off hand will not ship to the United States because of the "Paper work." I tried to explain that the lower in the Sig 556 is just a part not a serialized part, but it fell on deaf ears. It is a great concept, but it is hard to get it here. I gave up. NeitArms is the only one who will be able to see you one. Good luck. Let us know how it goes. Contact him through their website that you found to get the best results.

I must be missing something. A lower that takes AR15 magazines? Isn't that the standard SIG 556? The one that I already have?

Pretty much, and Sig sells just the lower if give them a call. These have a different trigger guard on them the the actual 556 lowers.
