This is my second 556, but this one is a lot different than my other one was. Aside from this one coming with a fixed stock that was swapped out by the previous owner I can't really find anything else out. Any help would be appreciated.
My current questions are;
1. Is the muzzle device oem?
2. Why does it have the AR "cage" on the lower as opposed to being smooth like the others?
3. Which handguard is this?
4. is the gas tube and gas selector stainless on this model? ( My other one had a nitrided gas tube).

Yes. This device is OE to the Sig SWAT model that you have. It is sort of a facsimile of the AAC 51t flash hider. No idea who made these.

2. Why does it have the AR "cage" on the lower as opposed to being smooth like the others?
??... Are you referring to the AR type magwell? Because AR mags are plentiful and inexpensive, and Sig USA thought people would not want to invest in proprietary mags.

3. Which handguard is this?
SWAT model aluminum handguard.

4. is the gas tube and gas selector stainless on this model? ( My other one had a nitrided gas tube).
Fairly certain the selector is SST, but I believe the tube is simply coated carbon steel.

Sig made the Flash hiders. They copied AAC's 18 tooth (18T) flash hider which they got in legal trouble for. It will work on older AAC 18T suppressor although AAC says it wont. All the 18T stuff from AAC has been discontinued I believe.

Gas tube?? This is a piston setup. There is no "gas tube" like on DI AR.

Sig did try their hand at their own AR style magazines however they were complete garbage.
