Well it seems we are starting to get some new members coming in so I thought it might be good for us all to stop in and say hello.

I'm in Shelby NC, Got about 6 AR's, an AK, a couple C&R rifles and a couple rimfires.
I'm the Director of Security for the company I work for that builds armored vehicles for the military used in IED removal.

Greetings everyone! I've been an AR guy for a while now. But I just recently purchased a Sig556 pistol with a Sig brace, and plan on SBRing soon. LOL, I already have a slew of questions, and will be posting my first tonight:)

Lol I will remember that
Greetings,
New SIG 556 owner here. Picked up an unfired SWAT pistol with quad rail which is very cool. I'm wondering why I never bought one years ago. Looking forward to form 1 approval and will be in the hunt for a nice lower.

Hello,
Sig rifle n00b here.
I'm an HK & Steyr junkie, with plenty of both of their handguns & rifles, along with a bunch of ARs.

Been wanting a Sig rifle for a very long time, and just now pulling the trigger(so to speak).

Should be acquiring a 556 Night Stalker edition within the next few weeks.
Welcome to the Forum, Caliber.666.

I'd be interested to hear on your rifle once received, as it's coming from perspective of HK and Steyr owner.

Thanks, I'm pretty excited.
Been doing HKs for quite awile, then recently got into Steyr AUGs(which are amazing) pretty heavily over the last year.

I'll post up pics as soon as I take possession of my 556.

Hello all, just got a 556xi Russian to get my 77.62x39 fix. First outing was less than desirable and I'm already looking for solutions. Otherwise it's a great feeling gun.
Welcome, New Members!
Glad to have you here.
Lurk around, learn something new, and share whatcha know.
Happy Shooting!
Just picked up a 556 Classic. Now the 10 day wait here in California.
Greetings from Texas!

Picked up a 556 SWAT about a month ago and love it so far. This is actually the first rifle I've ever owned. I had been to range with friends who owned ARs, but wanted something different. So happy I went with the Sig! I own their handguns and love the quality. Currently thinking about swapping out parts to make is look more like the Classic!

Congrats on your first rifle and welcome to the Forum!
Hello all. My name is Chris and I spend my time between Columbia, SC and Lenoir, NC. Big Sig fan. I've been mostly a pistol guy with a Sig P226 Tacops, P229, P238, and a Sig .22 mosquito. I just recently decided to buy my first rifle and picked up a Sig 556xi. I've only put about 120 rounds through it but I'm in love with this gun. Never hunted a day in my life but I can't help how much fun it is to shoot the 556. I wanted something a little different from the typical AR and the 400. The 556xi fit the bill perfectly.
Now only to find someone willing to part with the elusive keymod handrail for it...hint...hint. and like most, I'd like to change a few things around. Any advice on parts and ideas and how to make this gun better, I.e. grips, stocks, upgraded trigger, etc. I'm all ears. Thank you for letting me join the group. Time to go waste some more brass on some paper silhouettes. Happy and safe shooting. ;)
Hi Chris,
Welcome to the Forum and congrats on your rifle.
The only gripe on SIGarms I have is a limited selection of upgrades and accessories for its 556 rifle line (well, besides of their extensive and unfulfilled promises of "multi-caliber interchangeability" kits).
Few and only past aftermarket vendors folded their support, primarily due to low demand (read: "volume"), so be patient and creative.
Search this forum for the topics of your interest (aftermarket triggers, handguards, etc.) and look through the thread "Let's See Your SIG556" for ideas and inspirations. I understand Shooting Sight is still offering their 2-stage trigger upgrade kit. Let me know when you land a keymod HG.
Happy Shooting!

Hello Folks, happy to have found this site. Have a Sig 556 Classic which I bought in 2009. It came as a RedDot Version to which I quickly added the nice rotary Diopter Peep Sight. Well to this day I have yet to shoot it....sorry but I have a renewed interest in taking it from its other friends who live in my Man Cave and that spot in the safe I call the "Island of Yet to Be Shoot Toys". But as I was looking yesterday for a replacement Forend...and I found this site and the concerns folks are expressing over some of the various Dated Models of the 556. Looking at mine it appears from looking it over thoroughly the fit and finish are excellent, the Receiver Mounted Rail is laser Flat and Straight. I think I have a low number JT series. Made in May of 2009 the number is JT0008XX. It was the last of four rifles that were on an in store Display at one of my favorite dealers. I assume from the low serial number which is a JT and under 900 in the low 800's. (8XX) So come as a Sig Fan have a Sig P290RS SS Laser and had a 516. A friend wanted more then I and I sold it, as with all sold guns I have sellers remorse but as long as he's happy I'm happy. OK, please anyone I welcome any insights into the Sig Classic 556 Serial JT00008XX, 3-Pos Adjustable Folding Stock, Plastic Forend. And never fired a shot. I'm at the point of either putting it into the regular shooting rotation or selling it. As I said it appears to be a very nice rifle, no obvious Fit/Finish/Function flaws...but what else should I look at? Thank All!

Hello from SW Missouri. I have several WG Sigs but just got my 1st .556 & know absolutely nothing about it. So Thought I would join this group & learn from the experts.

Hi All-

Just purchased a 556xi Carbon 7.62X39 online. Decided to upgrade my Russian ammo burner from a Yugo SKS. Will take delivery next week. Needless to say, I can hardly wait.

Look forward to reading the helpful info available on this forum.
