Magpul MOE trigger guard won't fit a Classic
I just tried installing a MOE trigger guard on a 556 Classic and it won't fit. The trigger guard is too long. Is there one that DOES fit? Going to put this on my AR then.

I don't believe at this time magpul makes a trigger guard to fit the sig classic,but their probably working on one. I'm sure they'll be comming out with aftermarket parts for the 556's. It'll just take some time you'll have to be patient and just wait.
I spoke and wrote to magpul concerning the need for after market parts. As well as some ideas. I pretended to be two different people to see if the responses would be different, they were not. "We cannot comment on any products that may or may not be being developed" is what they said on the phone and email. If everyone contacted their favorite after market parts companies, then they would start considering jumping in or not. But if no one says anything, then we stay off the radar.

Yes, it does fit. I'll have to take pics so you can see. I had my gun smith do it. It took him a couple of minutes. Leave the one you have on your AR and order another one for your 556. I liked the MOE so much on the Sig I put them all on my AR's. And, for $8.95, you can't beat it.

I have the 556 ER. Is the MOE guard plastic? If so, maybe with some heat you could bend it til the holes are closer together.
The one shown is metal but I have a plastic one too. It would require some serious flexing and would probably end up looking like the RRA winter trigger guard. The plastic trigger guard that I have doesn't seem to bend very easy either. I have seen that others have done some modifications to make it work. I was just lookin for an excuse to get rid of the rattle in my rifle and wound up just leaving it alone. David

The SIG 556 lower with sidefolding stock (the AR mag, SIG mag, and AK mag models- all of them) use a trigger guard that superficially looks like the AR-15 trigger guard, but is a different length, hence why non e of the AR-15 aftermarket trigger guards will fit.
