I have an early model Sig 556 and have been thinking about changing the factory collapsible stock with the Magpul CTR stock after seeing some AR and 556 owners giving it good reviews. Two questions, I know I need the commercial stock, but do I need to buy anything else to install it to my rifle? Also, what are the pros to the Magpul stock over the Sig 556 factory stock if any?

CTR Stock

Installing the CTR stock is one of the best moves I have made, along with the 551 hand guards it's rock solid. Just pull down on the lever used to retract the stock and slide it off. The CTR might be a little tight going on but it will eventually do so. :D

Stock question

I have a similar question. I recently purchased a 556 SWAT with the new folding Sig stock. I was thinking about switching it out for the Magpul CBR (?) stock. How do I do that?

Sorry new 556 owner and not too smart with gun parts!

i purchased a mil-spec tube and ctr stock with a new buffer and spring for my 556 . my question is can i use my old 556 stock and commercial tube on my ar-15 and do i need to get a different buffer and spring since the inside diameter of the 556 tube is smaller than the mil-spec tube sent from magpul ?
