Lucid HD7

Ullie,
As per your recommendation, I purchased the Spotscope. I am very happy wih it. :D

I am awaiting a Lucid scope for testing and evaluation from the owner /inventor, for my department. I am curious to see how it works out.

Do you know if the Spotscope products can be used with a magnifier?
...yes...you can mount a magnifier behind any reflex or holograohic sight...

...however...

...IMO...using a magnifier with a non-magnifying optic is not a good way to go...regardless of the optic...whether a Spot Scope...an Aimpoint or Eotech...etc.....if you want some magnification...i always recomend going with a low power variable scope... preferably with an illuminated reticle......

And there in lies the rub, I tried a Burris 1-4x24 but I just felt like I had tunnel vision looking through it even in the lowest/no magnification

I guess the search continues :(

...when using a low powered variable at 1X or close to1X...you should shoot with both eyes open...focusing primarily on the target...most people can do this even @ 4X ...especially when using a "visible" illuminated reticle...pretty much the same concept as when using an Acog...except you can power down to 1X when needed to give you better situational awareness at closer range...

Got a HD7 a couple weeks back. Couldn't justify the Elcan$$ that I'd like to have, so this will have to do in the meantime. It is the same height as an acog, was worried it'd be a bit to high because of that, but it is just fine, no turkey necking or anything like that. The 4 reticle choices are nice, I could do without the auto brightness adjustment and opt just to use the manual adj. Unit is very solid, glass is great, turrets are solid, dialing adjustments are crisp/tight (opposing 1.5mm allen screws on each turret, painted/coated over). Did some quick work at the range, set 100yd zero and got data out to 500 yards, also shot some pics:
