Since it's apparent that the 556 SCM comes equipped with either the flip-up, or the hooded sight (Thanks, SIG, for more confusion!), I pose this question: Are both sight types adjustable? The feeble excuse of an owner’s manual (a whole other topic in itself!) that came with the rifle shows ONLY the flip-up sight in their photo examples concerning sight adjustment. All I can say is, “Thank God I found you folks!â€

The hooded sight is windage adjustable. If the folding sight shares the same base-concept, it should too.

For elevation, it's only adjustable one way (with a file, that is!)
LOL! Given the BUIS 'Mix&Match' situation posed to us SIG 556 owners, taking a file to the SOB is beginning to look like a VERY viable option. From what I've read at MFI's website the flip-up site is 1/4in. taller than the hooded one. If that measurement pertains to the sight post itself, it looks like if you merely grind that 1/4in. off, you'd be in business sight wise (and save yourself some dough, too!). Again, I'm no expert here . . . just speculating. Best!

Well, to me, the manual that comes with the rifle isn't any better or worse than the swiss manual.

If the elevation and windage adjustments don't allow you to sight the rifle in, I'd be talking to Sig, since they should (as several posts say, there could be more than a problem with the sights on the rifle).

I'd sight in your irons first before you contemplated filing anything. Now if you want your front sight (which one do you have anyway?) to work with a AR rear...
