How much distance?

1775 Views 6 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Reblyell
I've ordered the Samson Quick Flip FFS front sight and the A.R.M.S. #40L- SP FLIP UP REAR SIGHT to accompany it. Once installed, is there any specific amount of distance (in inches) that should be between them for maximum sighting efficiency? Thanks for your input! Best!

Well, the front sight gets mounted on the gas block and the rear sight gets mounted all the way to the rear of the rail. So, the answer to your question is, how ever many inches that winds up being.
...the longer the sight radius the better...i would mount your ARMS rear sight as far back as you can on the top rail without having it overhanging the rail...and push down and fowards as you tighten it down...
Thanks for the replies! Further is better . . . got it! Best!

Is there a reason for this specific mounting method, ullie? Thanks!
...yes...it places the recoil bar/lug found on some mounts/sights pressing against the foward wall of the slot...this prevents any rearwards movement of the mount or sight due to recoil...and also better allows you to remount the mount/sight in "exactly" the same place...which is imperative to maintaining your zero when remounting optics...
Thanks, ullie! Pretty "straight forward", I'd say! (No pun intended). Best!
