Here is the Advanced Folding Weapon Sight for SIG 55X rifles. The model shown is for AR style rear BUIS. However I am going to have a similar version that will align with SIG 556 rear BUIS. I have made some modifications based on the previous posting. The sight now uses a standard AR front sight post. This will allow the customer to choose any type of AR front sight post ( fiber optic, Tritium, or other styles). You will notice the front sight is still knob adjustable with the AR front post.

Please tell me what you guys think. I am going to have the first prototype started next week. If all goes well I should have them available some time in December.

Looks great. Now if you could add a Sig height, folding rear BUIS to go with this. I'd be very interested at that point.

Mac you are not the first person to say that! I am strongly considering making a rear sight as well. I first need to get the sig front sight completed then I can work the rear.

What would you guys like to see for a rear sight????

Looks great! The only thing I am not excited about is the thumb wheel for the sight elevation. Wheels can tend to be bumped or otherwise moved. I'd rather have one that turns by allen wrench, unless you haves some sort of lock on the wheel?

Also, not sure about that bolt that sticks out a little far on the left. Can that be trimmed down?

I love the fold down design and hood! Definitely interested in a rear sight to match.

Wabbit,
The knob (wheel) has a ball detent which you can not see that will prevent it from being bumped or knocked out of position. The button needs to stick out that far to allow the locking mechanism to be released.

I have several sigs. I would buy 3 or 4 of them. Great design. Please consider the rear diopter sight as well.

Just what I am looking for in a front sight. For the rear sight, have you conidered a dipoter tyle for your design? I have a Brownells diopter now and love it but it is not perfect.

If you do a short version that will allign to the 556 rear sights count me in. I don't care about my gun looking Swiss (because it's not) and I'd like to have something I could fold down to get out of my face when using optics.

Hey Kas, Great job and look forward to your new project. 8) The only thing I see I would consider doing in addition is, I would even up the look of the left push button release to match the look of the right side. I know it has to stick out, but make a similar shaped plate to resemble the shape and form of the right side. It's not really necessary, but it would have a little more uniformity looking down the barrel. As for the rear sight, if you can pull off what MFI can't, I will be a faithful customer also. By no means do I knock MFI, I like his rear sight set up. But, if he can not make it and you can then so be it. Also, I do like the retro look and the blend of function you added in adjustment ability.

I too wish you would make a rear diopter. I like the design and adjustment of the front sight, however I would prefer it to sit lower and fixed. More like the original. I have no need to co-witness, but understand other's desire to do so.

Any chance there might be a Flat Dark Earth and will it work with a Troy BUIS rear?

My one suggestion for enhancement is a mute topic since it is beyond your control. This would be a perfect replica of the swiss 552 sight if it had a Tritium glowing tip. But oh well, i'll take one without tritium.
