I did have a Blue Force Gear Vickers sling. No complaints really but I wanted something with padding built-in. So, now I have a Viking Tactics VTAC wide padded sling,

Most comfortable sling I've ever owned. You hardly notice the gun is there.

You could probably buy surplus SAW, M60, or M249 slings (I think Blackhawk makes one) and put a hook on one or both ends and have a nice, cheap padded sling. But, the VTAC has tons of quick adjustment so I can tighten it up to snug my body so it doesn't move around or let out some slack so I can one hand the rifle or wrap my off-hand arm in the sling for stability.

It is the bees' knees.

My condor 2/1-point bungee sling just shipped today. it has the HK style hooks and im using it on my 556 with front post attachment and d-ring(loop) just in front of the folding stock.
the only issue im having, this is my first rifle/sling so this may sound dumb, is when in its 2 point config im having trouble drawing the weapon comftorbly. I find im fighting the bungee to set the rifle in the proper possition. if i loosen the harness the rifle sits at/just below my waste. There are no issues in the single config. i guess my question is would you not draw the rifle in the two point possition? Is that just for carrying? any advice would be greatly appreciated, im expecting critism alog with advice lol

I have a SIG 556 Holo, and I don't have a sling yet. What kind of slings you all are running with yours.

Magpul MS2... quick,versatile.....little uncomfortable due to being thin/narrow when you hang rifle in single point configuration for long walks looking for piggies :D

2 point is for practical carrying. If you are wanting the weapon to be ready at a moments notice..single point will be the least obtrusive

I have an MS2 and like it quite a bit, I use it on one of my 870s. I was excited to try out an MS3 but wanted one in OD to match my sig 556 and signed up to get an email from Midway when they became available. Then I noticed the release date kept getting pushed back and that the green MS3 may have been axed before production so I started looking at other options and found a relatively new sling called the Tacstrap. They are made in the USA by an LEO (I think he may be ex-mil as well) and include your choice of hardware and color. It was only $39 shipped so I ordered one. I'll let y'all know how it is when it gets here.

Thank you for the response.
I look forward to hearing your review on the sling you have on order

A simple two point sling is best for overall use. One and three point slings have their place in some applications. I run a 3 point on my MP5 SBR and a two point on just about everything else. One point slings work best on short weapons like SBR/SBS and SMGs. On a full size rifle/shotgun you have to be careful or you will stick the muzzle in the ground . Personalty I think one point slings suck unless you are assaulting a building or an aircraft. They require you keep one hand one the weapon anytime you are moving or the weapon will swing around wildly hitting you in the legs, bouncing off of other gear and usually resulting in the weapon hitting you in the nuts at some point in time. Been there, done that.

I've used two point and single point slings and have found this to be the best of both worlds:
Easily converts from an action single point stance to a two point carry sling keeping the rifle from bouncing about or potentially getting the barrel in the dirt.

I have one of these as well. It works as designed but isn't the most comfortable sling ever due to the narrow webbing. The only thing keeping me from using it on my 556 is that I have an earlier classic lower without the sling mount loop at the rear of the receiver.

Mission Spec's service is great. I broke one of the adjustment pieces, and Mission Spec sent an envelope with several spares to me that same week.

I think I might give the Urban ERT sling a shot for the 556.

I really like a sling constructed of about 6 ft of 1 1/2" webbing in a two point sling configuration. I find this sling method more condusive to my shooting style and have become tired of a single point 'barrel dragger' setup . This simple an effective sling can easily be put together with the larger HK hook , two metal slides, 6 ft of webbing and Manticore Arm's Slotted Rear Sling mount.

This is coming from a 'real world' perpective from experience in the field as a combat medic...

I am currently a sailmaker and a yacht rigger so I have been building my own slings. I have used and liked the Blue Force Universal Wire Loop to directly attach the sling to the eye on the gas block . Unfortunately I feel it is a bit expensive for what you get. ($22.00)

For $7.00 less I have built my own which has worked flawlessly for over a year of abuse. My 'Delta Wire Loop' allows complete sling articulation and is made of marine stainless milspec wire and a stainless steel triangle hardware. It is also covered with a nylon sleeve. I have found that it does not make noise with metal on metal contact or melt on a hot gas block.

As mentioned before I have recently found that this sling style certainly works great with Manticore's Slotted Rear Sling mount!

( No I do not work for them.) :)

If you have a Sig 556 you owe to your self to try a two point sling set-up....
