I got the retainer from these guys today. Looks like a quality piece. The finish is glossy and appears to be pretty thick. When I drove out the pins, removed my gas block and got this bad boy on, it was just a hair big to fit back into the backside of the gas block. Needed a little encouragement from a wooden block to get in there.

Awesome! Mine should be arriving in a couple days, just ordered last night and had a tracking number an hour later!

I was unsure whether they were coated/painted/cerakoated and was starting to look for someone that could either parkerize or cerakote them. Glad they're finished.

Nice. I just requested a tracking number from gun factory. It was ordered a couple days ago so hopefully it’s already on its way but I never got a tracking number. Anybody know how quickly they get orders out? It looks like an old thread showed 17 days from order to delivery stateside.

Slightly on topic: I was just about to order one of the JMAC retainer rings but I already have an MFI ring and handguard set. Would anyone know if the MFI retainer cap works with cutdown 550 handguards? I'm thinking of doing a cutdown project (the MFI handguards don't seem very stable) .

Anyone know if JMAC is doing another run of these retainers or where to get one/a comparable one? I missed the boat on these and really need one. If anyone has an extra I will gladly buy it.

Any chance youll let them go? Im willing to pay far over retail if you are, as I am very desperate to finish a build.
