Hello
I just ordered a new 556 Classic with green furniture and I am considering the IOR Valdada RDS 30mm Red Dot. Anyone use this scope? Ups? Downs?
I was also told that the cantileger scope mount included with the scope was going to be too high for the Sig556. I was told that the best option was to use a low mount 30mm tactical scope ring instead.
At $200 its pretty attractive for a lower cost alternative to others out there. I have expensive glass already on my AR and this would be nice just to plink with.

thanks in advance.

...haven't used one...and it's not an Aimpoint...but IOR doesn't make junk !

..IMO....the downside would be the short run time and the large 5MOA dot...

...considering that you have a fixed front sight...i would go with a high ring to reduce optical clutter...i would also condsider the Larue mounts...

...just my thoughts...

I'm looking at this Aimpoint CompC3. I simply can't justify the M4 for my applications, but an Aimpoint is so rugged, I think of it as an investment. OK, maybe not an investment, but money well spent.

I don't care that the C3 lacks night vision compatibility. I would pick the ML2, but really don't like the 4 MOA dot. The C3 is ultra light, relatively inexpensive, and it's an Amipoint! It will also be part of my home defense kit, so I will never turn it off. The batteries will need replacement before they run out of juice.

My other application for the Aimpoint is the 2 second plinking contest we have when we hunt. Although there is very little money exchanged, it's good to win!

...the Aimpoint C3 is virtually the same as the ML3...and a great value for the money IMO...and will do anything the others will...and just as well !

...i would get a good mount with the money you saved...like the Larue QD LT-150...excellent return to zero...it will pay for itself in time with the ammunition you'll save to re-zero should you need to remove and remount the optic...

Ullie, thanks for the feedback, really appreciate your thoughts.

Also, has anyone ever heard of Primary Arms red-dot sights? Not sure I would not put one on a 556, but perhaps for a 522. Everyone on the net, which I do not trust, says they are good optics for the price, but have not seen them mentioned here where I do trust advice.
