Would a TA11F mounted on LaRue Tactical LT100 cause any conflicts with using the diopter/front site?

I really want this ACOG, and im currently using the rear diopter with the front hooded site in combination with the Sig factory red dot. This provides me with a good co-witness.

I guess what i'm getting at is that with magnification, a cowitness site picture is pointless and should only be used with an un-magnified red dot setup therefore making this ACOG setup impossible to use.

Please correct me if im wrong.

Conflict?

Unless I'm mistaken, assuming the ACOG will fit over the diopter, you will not be able to see your front sight at all with the ACOG. I assume you have 4x magnifcation. So using your iron sights won't be possible Unless you can see thru the hole on the bottom of the mount and it's in the same sight plane as your iron sights.

...you should not co-witness your irons with any optic...period !...you should sight in and use your irons "independantly" of any optic...even a non-magnified optic such as an Aimpoint or Eotech...

..my suggestion...if you're dead set on the ACOG...mount it in the Larue QD mount...and take it off when you intend to use your irons...when you remount your ACOG...and do it properly...you should be witthin 1 MOA of your origional zero...you should verify that the ACOG will clear your diopter sight !

...what i would do...if i wanted a magnified optic...is mount an illuminated low power variable scope in a Larue QD LT-104...and go with a folding front and rear sight...such as the Sig specific Samson folding front and either an ARMS or Troy Industries folding rear...

If you have the SIG diopter rear, the ACOG will NOT fit over the rear sight.
An ACOG Barely fits over the lower profile Aurora rear diopter.
If you try to move the ACOG forward of the rear diopter, you will be beyond the eye relief of the ACOG, which tends to be very short.
Listen to Ullie, co witness is just a crowded sight picture.

ullie...

Can you explain this to me! I co-witnessed my Eotech to my iron sites on my M4... Worked better than a "battle buddies" ACOG at 50m shootin cards. But maybe that was just my superior shootin!

Belt fed...

I agree with ullie 100% about the setup with folding BUIS. You can even mount ACOG almost on top of the rear folding BUIS. I want an ACOG bad , but I don't have to dough to dish out for the one I want.
