Received and installed my match trigger this past week. For first time ever doing this it went without a hitch really...good function check after assembly and works great. I did have to download and print the instructions off the website to help me visualize a little how things are meant to be done. The only snags I hit were the kit did not include the blue plastic spring guide shown in photographs on the website.....and the end of spring was not crimped so it could be slipped between the slot on the housing. I turned spring until the end of the spring was riding up in the slot and it held pretty secure...so assembled and function checked. Hope that was the ticket...haha

Actually, the printed instructions with the trigger are current - you are supposed to put the old spring inside the new spring, so the thinner (old) spring engages in the slot. You will want to fix that. If you use only the new spring, it might not function correctly and the disconnector won't operate as intended.

I need to update the website instructions, as well.

All I can say is art's trigger is amazing. I plan on doing a full review and a video of how it is better the the factory. I am not affiliated with Art but do love his trigger. Thanks for your great product for our rifles.

All the 55x series rifles use the same FCG parts, so yes, this will fit in the 550, 551, 553, 556, 556R, 556XI.

The only exception is the 522 (which is not a 55x series rifle in the first place - it only looks like one), because it is rimfire 22LR. I have a different trigger for that.

    Art,
Is there any fix for the carrier return "bump" over the hammer with the legacy 556 group?

The new 556XI version of my trigger will make the bump in a classic much better. I won't say zerOT better.

    1. I use NiB coating on the hammer, which drops the coefficient of friction, so it is not as difficult.
    2. The 556XI sear has a slightly longer 'nose', so the hammer is held lower during cycling, so the hammer is less in the way to start.

So.... My Gen1 556 trigger reset is far better and shorter than my 556xi. Any explanation? Any solution? Does anyone know of a way that I can modify my 556xi "PISTOL" to have the same reset as my Gen 1 556 SWAT? The 556 is such a proprietary weapon, which I am cool with (because of its AWESOMENESS!!!), but I would like to see some better aftermarket parts, especially when it comes to internals (parts). HELP!!!!! Can't believe that the XI is soon much different than the Gen 1, there has to be an upgrade, even if it comes from SIG (preferable).... Thanks!

    Safe Shooting and God Bless...

It's straight replacement of parts. Any gunsmith can do it in under 30 min.

Yeah, I don't pay others to work on my stuff (too expensive around here and they take a couple of weeks to do it). I'll get to it...too busy building AR's. :p

Just thought I'd mention that I picked one of these up a few months ago. Installation was easy to do sitting at my kitchen table with basic tools. I've been out shooting with it a few times since and the difference is huge. Great product.
