Fun day at the range, last time before deploying.

Shot the 556 with the red dot. The image below was a 5 shot group at 100 yards, using Mk262 Mod 1 ammo (military current issue), on an SR-1 repair center. The 10 ring is about 3.25"

While the dot did in fact obscure the black, keeping it centered was still intuitive. Still, I was surprised to see the result, and there were a few other targets that ended looking like that. I guess the SIG red dot is not necessarily the "piece of junk" many accuse it to be.

YMMV, of course.

Then put on the LTM (or is LMT?) rear sight, and proceeded to make the 200, 300, 400 and 500 yards gongs sing. Joyous sound. Well, the 500 was a little hit or miss, but still!
