I am looking to see if anyone knows the dimensions to drill those five holes as seen on the 552 handguards? I currently have the handguards that looks the same as the 552 but no large holes in a "W" pattern. Any help would be great!

sounds like you are wanting to do the same thing I am wanting to do.

go to the www.mfiap.com and they make the 552 style handguards for the 556. I am going to be ordering them today, along with the 552 style 3 prong flash hider they make to fit the threads of the 556. you will have to also get their retaining ring to have. their website has all of the instructions to put them on. by the way, no I dont work there just been looking for the same 552 style items for my 556 and found they are the only supplier. if anyone else reading this knows of any other sites, please post them. thanks

I have a set of MFI's 552 style HGs on my P556 and couldn't be happier with them. The material is a nylon derivative and has a little more "flex" than you would find on a glass-filled or ABS product of the same dimensions, but it isn't an issue in terms of function.

Now if MFI would just get their SIG style rear sight/rail assembly ironed out and ready for sale-they're having problems with a sub-contractor on the project and no release date has been announced...
