Are there any optional stocks for the 522? Can it be changed like the 556?
Thanks in advance.

Why isn't anyone responding? I know someone has an answer for me. Can someone that owns a 522 help me out?

It's the same stock as a 556 Classic, but the 522 has only really just been in mass release for about 2 months, most of us haven't had time to become curious enough to change one out.

It would be sweet if that were the case. I have a 522 and hate the crappy stock that came with it.

Reply from double diamond "I did not have a chance to ask the SIG guys about the stock. I'll see
if I can find one in town and take some measurements".

the last message i received from double diamond he told me that he is pretty sure they are the same but is not able to determine 100% if it will work . if you look at sigsauer.com at the pistols they have a 522 pistol with the same adapter so i think it will work but i am still waiting to hear back if you go to doublediamondsupply.com and send an email asking the same question it may speed up the process it will make them aware that more than one person is interested in their product for the 522

Just got the word from sig that the pistol grip and the stock are identical from the 522 and the 556 so yes if you can get an adapter it will work double diamond has not released the adapter yet

Just received word from doublediamond. They are making a small batch of adapters and he will try putting one on a 522 asap. I'm going to order one as soon as they release them.

The adapter from Double Diamond just arrived and I will test installation on a 522 as soon as the buffer tube gets here. Actually, maybe I'll just swap tomorrow since the 556 is going to get the new tube.

Confirmed fit without issue. I will post a report in the Uppers, Lowers, Barrels and Parts section.

There most certainly are mate! Slap on a Double Diamond LE Stock Adapter (http://www.shop.doublediamondsupply.com/main.sc) and you can thread in a buffer tube and any M4 Style stock. Check mine out; it's the rifle on top with the Magpul CTR Stock...
Machine gun Air gun Trigger Gun barrel Gun accessory

It is configured as follows:
  • Double Diamond LE Stock Adapter (like the two 556's below it)
  • DPMS Buffer Tube / End Plate / Castle Nut
  • Magpul CTR Stock
  • Magpul AFG2
  • Hogue Rubber Grip (better grip angle)
  • Bushnell 3-7 x 32 Scope
  • Bushnell First Strike Holographic on 45 degree offset
Can check out the review on Youtube at: Sig Sauer 522 Review - December 14, 2014

Enjoy, and happy shooting!
