In your opinion what is the rifle in the pic worth? How much should I pay? I remember how much I paid for my 556 SWAT FDE in 2008 but how much would one expect to pay for a used 556R with a Lucid M7, Troy Rails, Troy Buis, Cerakote FDE, Magpul RVG foregrip and a Magpul rail attachment for a tac light and a decent sling with QD mount, a nice OD green rifle bag with 5 mag pouches full with 2 loaded 30rd Surefire PMAGS, 1 TAPCO 30rd, 1 Promag 30rd, 1 steel 30rd.? I added the magpul AFG. The serial begins with 28C.

If you like everything included in the pkg, and the 2 tone look, it is a good deal. A gun is only worth what someone will pay for it. Some people might not like the accessory configuration. A base 556r will run you 1k. If you were to build that pkg yourself it would run you considerably more. The 28C is a Gen 2 which is a good thing. The Gen 1s had magport problems. The Gen 2s were beefed up in the magport to correct the problem.

Thank you very much for your feedback. Spoke to SIG today and they confirmed GEN2 with production date of May 2013, and are sending me a manual. Im excited.

I don't think the stock adapter is OEM. That, a good paint job and the Troy parts would make this a $2K boom stick just for the parts.
The best part is, except for the magazines, all other parts can be used on the 223 Classic.

If you look at my past threads I used to have one sweet 556 Swat limited FDE. Now I'm just trying to get back into it. Where can one find goodies now days?

If it were my gun, id have a Hogue grip and Krebbs Custom angled safety lever.
I shop Optics Planet, Palmetto state, Midway USA, Primary Arms, Brownells.
I also try to support direct sales from the manufacturer if they ship. But since Im usually buying a bundle of parts at a time, Ill usually go with whoever has the most of what I need in one place,

Tromix makes a sick charging handle (that doesn't come flying out with use.)

Ive never had a problem with CH popping out.Is that something to look forward to with use? Who carries the Tromix handles for a good price?

I had an aftermarket charging handle (can't remember the manufacturer, but there are aren't many for the 556R) pop out on me. The tromix locks in due to its design. And you can only get it from...wait for it...Tromix.

Here is a pic of my Gen2 with the Tromix handle. That will be $1. And don't laugh at my bullet button. I'm trapped behind the iron curtain of Kommiefornia.

I wouldn't buy a 556r period, to great of a chance of getting a piece of shit. The 2 things I will not buy from sig are their 1911s and the 556r. Dealing with their CS and gunsmiths is like pulling teeth
