What are my swiss bayonet options? I think I want to run a US style lug to run a Us bayonet.

Who makes the bst quality mount? How strong is this one?

RTG in AZ has a NATO bayonet lug that will take US bayonets for about $23. I have one of those and also bought the Swiss stlye bayonet lug and PE 57 bayonet from Colorado Gun Sales. I like the looks of the Swiss set up best.

If you use the Swiss lug, you are limited to using the Stgw-57 or Stgw-90 bayonets only, they are very nice quality items but just basic bayonets and the Stgw-90 bayonet is fairly expensive.

If you use the U.S. style lug, you can then use any of the multitude of bayonets that are made to fit the M-16/AR-15 and the new Eichorn multi-function bayonets.

Didn't the Swiss recently switch over to to U.S. style lug themselves?

Also, if you have Sig factory rails, you can not use the US lug unless you modify the lug. I believe Colorado Gun Sales has a lug for Swiss bayos that is already modified to fit with Sig rails. If you are just using regular handguards then I would suggest the NATO lug, you have many more options of pig stickers to put on that way.

That is a heck of a deal, those are Victorinox blades, excellent steel and make great kitchen knives, that price is outstanding for just a knife

Wenger also made that model of bayonet. Mine is exactly like the Victorinox only it has Wenger stamped on it. The Wengers were cheaper, that is the only reason I bought it over the Victorinox but they both have to pass the same Swiss military QC.

This is a Wenger and is of same quality. I think CGS sells them at $10.00 difference for one over the other. They sell theirs for 139.00 for the Wenger. I have another just like this one and like it a lot. I have re- dyed the plastics to black and painted the sheath the same to match the rifle.

    flascot007,

When you say you sharpened the bayonet, did you keep the chisel grind or bevel the back side of the blade to sharpen it?

kept the original chisel profile. I just cleaned up the edge, it was sharpened when I received it.
